Springhill Institute Report on Activities records the activities that took place at Springhill Institute between 2004 and 2006. Springhill Institute was a project space created by Kihlberg & Henry as a strategy to bring artists together in constructive discourse and for production of new work. Springhill Institute hosted seven production residencies for international artists, each making an ambitious project during an intensive two-week process. Artists invited included Tellervo Kalleinen & Oliver Kochta with the 1st Complaints Choir of Birmingham, Peter Johansson & Barbro Westling with The Bergman Horror Show and Manuel Saiz with Parallel Universes Meet at Infinity.
The Springhill Institute Report on Activities book includes essays by Simon and Tom Bloor, Manuel Saiz, Karin Kihlberg & Reuben Henry, an interview with Christoph Draeger and designed by James Langdon. Included is documentation of work produced during seven international artists residencies by Christoph Draeger, The Discriminating Gentlemen’s Club, Per Hüttner, Peter Johansson, Barbro Westling, Tellervo Kalleinen, Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen, Julia Montilla and Manuel Saiz.
