Sep-Nov 2011

The third residency in The Institute of Beyond, The Department of Overlooked Histories looked at how history is constructed and the ways it is understood, accessed and presented. A series of public events informed the development of work, which was presented in the gallery at the end of the residency. The artists were also included within the end-of-year exhibition The Starry Rubric Set.

As part of the project Kihlberg & Henry invited Dr Henriette Hendriks, Head of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics at Cambridge University to present a talk on how language marks the present and future and how grammar marks ongoingness versus completeness.

The video Analytical Chronology of Three Dimensions was made during the residency, as were two performances; A Romance of Many Dimensions and Noting the Present.
